Do you get Fantasy Football withdrawal symptoms at 3pm on a Saturday when there are no Premier League matches being played? Do you want a chance to win one of 2 x £10 Amazon vouchers in a competition that is free to enter? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then this new community competition is for you!

WHEN WILL THE COMPETITION TAKE PLACE?

This competition involves traveling down the divisions in English football to use League One as our substitute for the absence of Premier League football. The plan is that it will take place every Saturday this season, when there are no Premier League matches scheduled and at last six League One matches to sink our teeth into. There will also be two further competition Gameweeks over Easter, on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, which coincides with the March international break.

Provisionally, the six likely GWs will be on the following dates…….

Saturday 10th October (October international break)

Saturday 14th November (November International break)

Saturday 30th January (FA Cup 4th round)

Saturday 20th February (FA Cup 5th round)

Friday 25th March (March international break – Good Friday)

Monday 28th March (March International break – Easter Monday)

*These dates, particularly on FA Cup weekends, will be subject to cancellation if there are any rescheduled Premier League games or not enough League One matches kicking off at 3pm, and there could also be an extra Gameweek on Saturday 9th January (FA Cup 3rd round), again depending on the number of League One matches that day with a 3pm kick off.

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK?

Each Gameweek, you will have the opportunity to pick a virtual team from League One of one team goalkeeper from a choice of up to 12 teams, one team defence from a choice of up to 12 teams, and six individual named  attackers –one each from six separate lists of between four and eight players.

Your “team” will then play a virtual match based solely on goals scored/conceded in the 3pm kickoffs on that particular Gameweek day.  Each Gameweek there will be different lists, so you won’t have the same team for the whole competition.

The format of the matches is simple. As an example, your goalkeeper concedes two goals. You are 2-0 down. Your defence concedes one goal. You are now 3-0 down. Your attackers score five goals between them. You have won the match 5-3.

HOW DO I WIN?

There will be two elements to the competition, both with a first prize of a £10 Amazon voucher.

The first voucher will go to the manager of the team that has the biggest single match win in any Gameweek of the season.  This will be decided by goals scored in the event of a tie (e.g. a 6-1 win will beat a 5-0 victory).

The second voucher will go to the cumulative winner over the season.  A win in a Gameweek will count as 3 points towards your personal points tally, while a draw will count as 1 point.  The manager with the most points at the end of the season will be declared the winner with goal difference and then goals scored deciding any tie.  Please note that only goals scored/conceded in matches where your team wins or draw will contribute towards your goal difference/goals scored, so you will not be penalised for losing a match one week in comparison to a manager that hasn’t submitted a team for the same Gameweek.

If there is still a tie at the end of the season in either element of the competition, there will be a tiebreaker set.

HOW DO I ENTER?

At around 11pm on the night before the Gameweek will take place (i.e. Friday night on a Saturday Gameweek and Thursday/Sunday night on the Easter Gameweeks), the selection lists will be posted on the FFScout website boards, and will be emailed to you if you have requested emails to be sent to you.  To enter a team for that Gameweek, you will then just need to email me with your FFSscout username and your team selection.  The deadline for entries will strictly be 2:55pm on the day of the matches, with any changes to your originally submitted teams permitted as long as they are notified to me before the deadline.  I will also try my best to post team news on the FFScout website at around 2:30pm each Gameweek day (“real life” permitting!).

To get the entry lists emailed to you each Gameweek, simply email tyroreports@hotmail.com with a subject of “Blank Week Challenge email request” (no other information is needed) and I will add you to the distribution list. If at any point in the future you want to unsubscribe from these emails, just send an email to the same address confirming this.

I hope you all will enjoy the competition :)
